The Benefits Of LPN Training

If you are thinking about whether to train to become a Licensed Practical Nurse then I suggest you read on. The Licensed Practical Nurse or LPN is a great way to get into the nursing profession.  There are some very good reasons for making this assertion.

Firstly, and perhaps most obviously is the timetable from the start of the LPN training program to the point at which you pass the NCLEX-PN examination and qualify as an LPN.  This timeline, with the benefit of online LPN programs can now be as short as 12 months in length.  This means that you will not have an extended and costly period of time studying whilst potentially having to support yourself with working unsocial hours to earn some money.

The second significant benefit is that the entrance requirements for being accepted on an LPN training course are comparatively low, with really only a clean criminal record and a high school diploma being required.

The fact that you can move on to train to be a Registered Nurse, or enrol for a Bachelor of Nursing Degree program once you have qualified as an LPN is the next benefit.

Finally, and perhaps most importantly, if there is any doubt in your mind that nursing is not necessarily the career for you, then training to become an LPN is a great way to quickly find out your true position on the matter before committing yourself to the financial burden and timescales associated with other nursing qualifications
